Built in 1891, Le Casine di Castello has been lovingly restored with attention to details and care for maintaining its original charm. From the trompe l’oeil paintings on the walls and ceilings to the Tuscan antique furnishings, you will step back in time to a place of comfort and tranquility.
Le Casine di Castello is centrally located in the tiny village of Castelmuzio, completely off the tourist track and only a short drive away from Pienza and Tuscany’s most photographed region, the Val d’Orcia.

For groups of six or seven, both Il Cielo and Il Nido may be rented. At street level there is an internal adjoining door, that allows both apartments to be combined to make one very large Tuscan town house.

Generally, our apartments are rented on a weekly basis, Saturday to Saturday, from April through early November. From mid-November until mid-March (except for Christmas and New Year time) we require only a three-night minimum stay. During these months we provide our same great service; however, the Dolce Vita stay is replaced with a Dolce Sosta stay offering, which includes a variety of activities depending on availability.
Please feel free at any time to inquire about any length of stay—especially if your travel is imminent—to see if we have last-minute availability or if you would like to be put on a waiting list.

You may check in from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Check-out time is by 10:00 am.
CANCELLATION POLICY
In the unfortunate event that you need to cancel all or part of your reservation, these are the conditions:

This spacious apartment spans three levels. The entry is on street level, where you will enter into a large entrance hall and staircase decorated with antique Tuscan artifacts. Halfway upstairs is a half bath with toilet and shower.
On the second level there are two beautiful bedrooms, a living room with a comfortable sofa bed, a useful hallway closet, a dining room with an open fireplace, and a spacious, luxurious, bathroom with hairdryer, bidet, and large shower.
The bedrooms can be arranged with either an Italian “matrimonial” bed (queen-sized bed) or two twin beds. Every bed has a high-quality orthopedic mattress, clothed with the finest of luxury linens and bedspreads, and extra pillows.
The kitchen has everything you need to prepare delicious meals. The kitchen includes a stovetop, toaster, coffee makers, microwave, refrigerator with freezer, and dishwasher. You will find a full complement of dinnerware, flatware, water and wine glasses, wine decanter, cutlery, utensils, and pots and pans. Candles are provided for romantic meals. The double exposure of Il Cielo provides vistas of both the surrounding countryside or quaint views of the village. For your comfort, the windows have screens to keep the mosquitoes outside while letting the fresh Tuscan breeze inside. Halfway to the top floor is a laundry room with washing machine, ironing board, laundry sink, and clothes drying rack. Clothes detergent is provided for your convenience. Use of the washing machine is included within the rental charge.
The top of the house opens up to a private terrace with table and chairs and grill. From this vantage point you can enjoy the view of the bell tower and medieval center of the village as you sip your wine and relax in total peace. Your perch on top of the world allows you to see beyond the village buildings out to the Val d’Orcia countryside.

Il Nido is a romantic hideaway, with vaulted brick ceilings, tucked underneath “Il Cielo”, and perfect for two people who have come for their honeymoon or to live their Tuscan dream together, or for someone who wants a retreat getaway. Il Nido is extremely quiet and private. Il Nido has a décor that is cozy and romantic.
The entry is at street level. Once inside, you descend a flight of steps and reach the courtyard garden level, where you will find Il Nido.
The kitchen is large and homey, and includes a dining table to enjoy the delicious tastes of Tuscany. Candles are provided for romantic meals. Everything you need is here!
From the kitchen, you can step through the French door out to the courtyard garden, to smell the flowers, feel the cool of the morning or evening air, enjoy secret views to the surrounding countryside, and enjoy your own private place. In this beautiful outdoor space there are pots of fresh herbs, a table with two chairs, and a grill. It is perfect out here for finding peace and quiet, reading a good book, and enjoying a glass of wine.
The bedroom has a romantic queen-sized, four-poster bed. The bed has a high quality, orthopedic mattress, clothed with the finest of luxury linens and bedspread. Extra pillows are provided for your comfort.
The bathroom is very large, complete with a hairdryer, roomy shower, and bidet. Fluffy, terrycloth towels await you for your total comfort. An iron, ironing board, and drying rack are available.
This naturally cool, thick-stoned living space has no need for air conditioning. A dehumidifier keeps the air fresh and comfortable.
